Terms of Service

Effective October 7, 2026

Draft. These terms have not been reviewed by a lawyer yet and bracketed details are placeholders.

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name, e.g. Fitplate LLC] ("Fitplate", "we") for using this website and ordering products from it. By placing an order or using the builder you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What we make

Fitplate makes custom metal panels to the design you create in our builder: a laser-cut aluminum plate with the cutouts and mounting holes you place, in the finish you choose. Panels are made to order by our manufacturing partner. Unless an order page says otherwise, switches, gauges, sockets, wiring, fasteners and other components are not included.

2. Your design and measurements

3. Orders, prices and payment

4. Production and delivery

Production and shipping times shown on the site are estimates, not guarantees. Your panel ships directly from our manufacturing partner and may arrive in their packaging. Risk of loss passes to you when the panel is delivered to the address you gave. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, contact us and we'll work with the carrier to make it right.

5. Custom products, remakes and refunds

6. Installation and safety

Installing switches, gauges and wiring in a vehicle can affect its safety and electrical system. Use parts rated for the load, protect every circuit with a correctly sized fuse or breaker, and have the work done by someone qualified if you are unsure. Check that your modifications are legal where you drive. We are not responsible for the installation, wiring or components you use with our panels.

7. Your designs and shared vehicle templates

You keep ownership of your designs. You give us permission to store and manufacture them and to show them back to you. If you save a panel as a vehicle template or confirm that a panel fits, you also allow us to use its dimensions, without your name or contact details, to offer templates to other customers. Don't upload or name designs with content you don't have the right to use.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no attempts to break its security, overload it, scrape it at scale, place fraudulent orders or order parts intended to cause harm.

9. Warranty disclaimer

Apart from the remake-or-refund promise in section 5, the site and products are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when they were placed.
