Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information [Legal entity name, e.g. Fitplate LLC] ("Fitplate", "we") collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to make and deliver your panel.

What we collect

Order and contact details: your name, email address and shipping address, given at checkout.
Designs: the panels you create, including those you save with a share link and those you order.
Order history: prices, status, tracking numbers, and any fit report or comment you send us.
Payment: handled by Stripe on its own checkout page. We receive confirmation that you paid, not your card number.
Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The builder saves your unfinished design in your browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back; it never leaves your device unless you save or order it. Staff who sign in to our admin area get one sign-in cookie.

How we use it

To make, ship and support your order, including emails about its status and asking whether it fit.
To keep records required for accounting and tax.
To improve fit for other customers, using panel dimensions without your name or contact details.
To protect the site against fraud and abuse.

We don't send marketing emails unless you opt in, and we don't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run the service, and only what each needs:

Stripe processes payments and sales tax.
Our manufacturing partner (currently SendCutSend) receives the cut file and the shipping name and address so it can make and ship your panel.
Shipping carriers receive your delivery address.
Resend sends our transactional emails.
Neon hosts our database and Render hosts the website.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require (typically up to seven years). Saved designs that were never ordered are kept until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your personal information by emailing [support email, e.g. support@yourdomain.com]. We may need to keep some order records for legal reasons. Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have further rights, including to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for using your rights. We don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, payment data stays with Stripe, and access to order data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
